Election day is not far off, or so the advertisements keep telling me. What else do the adverts tell me? To vote for one person because of outstanding qualities; to not vote for the opponent because of dastardly deeds.
I am sure that I am not the only one disheartened by the generally negative ads that are spewed out of my TV. The media boffins must have done their research and must have decided that negative ads and counter attacks before we have time to draw breath and digest anything are the way to go.
Does all the advertising really galvanise the voters? Maybe, but I wonder what my children think.
