In the meantime, the accelerated IGCSEs were covered as follows:
IGCSE Maths (0580)
Past Paper 2
How we covered the material:The aim was to complete Past Paper 2, so that I could mark it and find areas of weakness or missing knowledge/skills.
How I judged knowledge/skill acquisition: This will be done when I have marked the paper with annotations or worked out solutions.
IGCSE English Language (0500)
Past Paper 3
How we covered the material: This paper was completed by discussing essay prompts, choosing a title and answering it. It was useful to look at the strengths of answering a descriptive or narrative essay first, as most students fare much better on these essays. Argumentative and discursive essays will be covered later.
How I judged knowledge/skill acquisition: Discussing elements of descriptive and narrative writing helped to assess skills and to guide my daughter towards one form of writing over the other. Now to grade the paper.
